About Kerry Allyne

Kerry Allyne is the pen name of an English-born romance novelist, raised in Australia, who wrote outback romances published by Mills & Boon from 1976 to 1994.

According to her author profile, her family emigrated to Australia when she was a child. She returned to England for a time and travelled widely before going back to Australia, where she met her engineer husband and had children. A later move to the country gave her the rural settings and characters that run through her fiction, much of which is set in rural Australia.

Her debut, Summer Rainfall, was published in 1976 and issued in North America as Harlequin Romance number 2019. It was followed by Bound for Marandoo and Tuesday's Jillaroo (1977), West of the Waminda and The Wool King (1978), and Across the Great Divide and The Plains of Promise (1979). The Romance Wiki at the University of Birmingham lists 30 Harlequin titles, the last in 1992: 26 in the Harlequin Romance line and four in Harlequin Presents, the first of these being Bindaburra Outstation in 1980. Legally Bound appeared in 1984.

For collectors. Her novels appeared as Mills & Boon paperbacks in the UK with numbered Harlequin editions in North America, and Open Library records reissues of titles such as Bound for Marandoo and Across the Great Divide by Chivers and John Curley.
