About William Morrow
William Morrow is a New York trade publisher founded in 1926 by William Morrow and now an imprint of HarperCollins.
Morrow built a general list of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children. Its children's authors included Beverly Cleary, whose Henry Huggins, the first book of her Henry Huggins series, Morrow published in 1950. The adult list has included Ray Bradbury, Elmore Leonard, Neil Gaiman and Neal Stephenson, and in April 2005 Morrow published Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner's Freakonomics.
The company stayed independent for four decades. Scott Foresman bought it in 1967, the Hearst Corporation acquired it in 1981, and News Corporation bought it in 1999 and folded it into HarperCollins. It continues there as a HarperCollins imprint.
