Caroline Anderson

Caroline Anderson is the pen name of Caroline M. Woolnough, a British romance novelist born in Hong Kong who has written more than 80 contemporary novels for Mills & Boon since 1991, many of them medical romances.

Before writing she worked as a nurse, a secretary and a teacher, and ran her own business; her publisher's profile quotes her as saying she was looking for variety and found it in writing. She lives in Suffolk with her husband John and has two daughters, Sarah and Hannah.

Her first books appeared in 1991. Relative Ethics opened the Audley Memorial Hospital series and Practice Makes Perfect followed the same year, both from Harlequin Mills & Boon. Open Library records a steady flow of titles through the early 1990s, including More Than Time, A Perfect Hero, Saving Dr. Gregory, Playing the Joker and A Gentle Giant (1992), Knave of Hearts, Raw Deal, The Spice of Life and Second Thoughts (1993), and Once More, With Feeling and Anyone Can Dream (1994). Later books include Double Destiny (2002), Holding Out for a Hero (2005), The Tycoon's Instant Family (2006), Christmas-Eve Baby (2007) and The Valtieri Marriage Deal (2009).

For collectors. Her novels were published as Mills & Boon paperbacks, and many were reissued in large print by publishers such as Ulverscroft, Chivers and Dales. Collectors looking for first printings of the Audley Memorial Hospital books and other early medical romances should check for the original Mills & Boon imprint and date on the copyright page.
