Connie Mason

Connie Mason is an American author of historical romance, born in 1930 according to the Writers Directory, who has published more than fifty historical romances and novellas since her debut, Tender Fury, in 1984.

She was a full-time homemaker before she began writing, and her husband's service career took the family to Europe and Asia; she later settled in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Tender Fury (1984) was followed by a steady output through the 1980s and 1990s, including Caress and Conquer (1985), Tempt the Devil (1988), The Lion's Bride (1994), the Outlaws trilogy (1999 to 2000), The Black Knight (2000) and A Taste of Sin (2000). Her books range across exotic locations and the American past, and include Viking and pirate stories. Romantic Times named her its Storyteller of the Year in 1990 and gave her a Career Achievement award in the Western category in 1994. In 1995 she was featured in a CBS 48 Hours segment on the romance novel industry.

Her debut, Tender Fury (1984), is the earliest book for a collection. Open Library lists over a hundred works under her name, including translations and reissues, so first printings need checking against the original publication year.
