Erin Hunter

Erin Hunter is the shared pen name behind the Warriors series of animal fantasy novels for children, written by a team of authors working with the London book packager Working Partners and published by HarperCollins since 2003.

The concept and original storyline of Warriors came from editor Victoria Holmes, who plotted and edited the books until she stepped back in 2017, after which a team of editors took over. Kate Cary wrote the first novel, Into the Wild, with which the series began on 21 January 2003, the opening book of the first story arc, The Prophecies Begin, and Cherith Baldry became the other main Warriors novelist. Tui T. Sutherland worked as a Warriors editor and wrote several books in Seekers, a series about bears, while the Survivors series was written by Gillian Philip, Inbali Iserles and Rosie Best among others. Other contributors to the name include Clarissa Hutton, Gibson Twist, Conrad Mason and Michael Ford. Warriors has grown to nine story arcs following the forest Clans of wild cats, plus manga adaptations by Dan Jolley published by Tokyopop. The series has sold more than 90 million copies worldwide in 38 languages and spent 119 weeks on The New York Times children's and young adult bestseller list from November 2014.
