Jennifer Ashley

Jennifer Ashley is an American bestselling author of historical romance, paranormal romance and mysteries, best known for the Mackenzies and Shifters Unbound series.

She also writes paranormal romance and urban fantasy as Allyson James and historical mysteries as Ashley Gardner. Her early romances were published by Leisure Books, beginning with pirate romances such as The Care and Feeding of Pirates (2000), Perils of the Heart (2002) and The Pirate Next Door (2003). As Ashley Gardner she wrote historical mysteries, among them The Hanover Square Affair and A Regimental Murder, which appeared from Berkley Prime Crime in 2003 and 2004. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie, published by Leisure Books in 2009 and reissued by Berkley in 2011, opened her Mackenzies series.

She has won a Romance Writers of America RITA Award and is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author.

For collectors

Her romances have appeared mainly as mass-market paperbacks, so first printings are what distinguish early copies. The Leisure Books first of The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (2009) is the original printing of the Mackenzies opener, distinct from the Berkley reissue of 2011.
