About Tessa Dare

Tessa Dare is the pen name of an American historical romance novelist, a librarian by training, who made her debut in 2009 and has twice won the Romance Writers of America's RITA Award.

Her first novel, Goddess of the Hunt, was published by Ballantine Books in 2009 and opened the Wanton Dairymaid trilogy, followed by the Stud Club trilogy. In 2011 she moved to Avon with A Night to Surrender, the first Spindle Cove novel, which won the 2012 RITA for Regency historical romance. Romancing the Duke (2014), first of the Castles Ever After books, won the 2015 RITA for short historical romance, and Say Yes to the Marquess was a 2016 finalist. Her Girl Meets Duke series began with The Duchess Deal (2017). She is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author and lives in Southern California.

The two RITA winners, A Night to Surrender (Avon, 2011) and Romancing the Duke (2014), are the titles that won her the genre's leading award, and Romance Wiki lists five further RITA shortlistings between 2010 and 2017.
