The British first of 3001: The Final Odyssey is the 1997 HarperCollins hardback in dust jacket, published in London under the Voyager imprint (ISBN 0 246 12689 2). Priority is disputed: Wikipedia gives the United Kingdom as the place of first publication, while the Encyclopedia of Science Fiction lists the Ballantine/Del Rey hardback (New York, 1997) first, and an American specialist dealer describes the HarperCollins book as the first British edition. British dealers describe first-impression copies; check the copyright page for any later impression.
