Thorpe books are large print reprints of titles already published elsewhere, not first editions: the Ulverscroft history describes the business as republishing standard books in large print for libraries, and Open Library records list Thorpe editions of novels first issued by other houses, such as Mills & Boon romances.
Thorpe editions give Anstey or Leicester as the place of publication, which matches the Ulverscroft address in Anstey, Leicester, and the places shown on Open Library records.
