About Corgi

Corgi is a paperback imprint of Transworld Publishers, the London house set up in 1950 as the British arm of the American paperback firm Bantam Books and now a division of Penguin Random House.

Transworld, based in Ealing, west London, has traditionally issued its hardbacks under imprints such as Doubleday and Bantam Press and its paperbacks under Black Swan and Corgi. Terry Pratchett appears on the Corgi paperback list: Penguin, for example, lists his A Blink of the Screen (2013) as a Corgi paperback.

Corgi also built a children's list. In the early 1970s it entered children's paperbacks with the Carousel imprint, and by the mid-1980s it had reorganised that list around Picture Corgis, Young Corgis and Corgis, with illustrators such as Shirley Hughes.

Transworld is now a division of Penguin Random House UK, and Corgi remains one of its imprints alongside Black Swan, Doubleday and Bantam Press.
