About Ebury Publishing

Ebury Publishing is the non-fiction division of Penguin Random House UK, publishing food, lifestyle, health, self-help, memoir and entertainment books from London.

It began in 1961 as Ebury Press, a book division of the magazine house Nat Mags, and was first based on Ebury Street in London. In 1989 it was sold to Century Hutchinson, which Random House UK took over the same year, and it passed into Penguin Random House when Random House merged with Penguin in 2013.

Ebury now groups a number of imprints, among them BBC Books, Ebury Press, Rider, Vermilion, Virgin Books, WH Allen, Witness Books and Ebury Spotlight. It also runs Ebury Edge and FlightStory Books, the latter a joint venture with the podcaster Steven Bartlett. Authors on its list include Yotam Ottolenghi, Mary Berry, Charlie Mackesy, Pam Ayres and Steven Bartlett.

We have not yet written the guide to Ebury Publishing's first-edition conventions. Until we do, check each book's own page: we list its points where we know them. Know how Ebury Publishing marked its firsts? Tell us.
