About Sourcebooks, Incorporated

Sourcebooks is an American book publisher in Naperville, Illinois, founded in 1987 by Dominique Raccah and now majority owned by Penguin Random House.

Before starting the firm Raccah ran the quantitative analysis department at the advertising agency Leo Burnett. Her first title was a self-published business guide, Financial Sourcebooks Sources, and the company began as a business and finance publisher before moving into general trade books. Its imprints include Sourcebooks Landmark (fiction), Sourcebooks Casablanca and Bloom Books (romance), Sourcebooks Fire (young adult), Sourcebooks Jabberwocky (children's) and Poisoned Pen Press (mystery), acquired in 2018. The Poetry Speaks books, which pair poems with audio recordings, led to a children's edition, and the personalised book programme Put Me in the Story was introduced in late 2012. Publishers Weekly named Raccah its Person of the Year in 2016.

Penguin Random House bought a 45% stake in May 2019, took a 52% majority in 2023 and raised its holding to 75% in 2024.
