Reese's Book Club picks 2017
49 books set by Reese's Book Club, each with its first edition, the points that identify it and what it is worth where sales are recorded.
Reese's Book Club picks for 2017: 49 books in 9 groups. We have identified the first edition of 41 of them. A school or study copy of any of these is a reprint worth a few pounds; the first printing of the first edition is the copy collectors pay for. The list comes from the official source, read on 22 October 2026.
Reese Witherspoon's book club began in June 2017 with Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and has chosen a book a month since, almost always fiction with a woman at its centre, announced on Instagram and marked in shops with a round yellow sticker. It has become the most commercially powerful book club in the United States: Where the Crawdads Sing, the pick for September 2018, went on to sell many millions of copies, and Hello Sunshine, the club's parent company, has filmed a run of its own picks, from Little Fires Everywhere and Daisy Jones and the Six to The Last Thing He Told Me.
The club matters to collectors for the same reason Oprah's did. A copy with the club sticker is a later printing or a later jacket; the sticker adds nothing. The valuable copy is the first printing in the jacket as issued before the pick, and for a book that became a phenomenon the gap is wide: a first printing of Where the Crawdads Sing (Putnam, 2018) is worth far more than any of the stickered reprints that followed, and Eleanor Oliphant's true first is the HarperCollins London edition rather than the American Pamela Dorman Books issue. Most picks are recent, so their first printings are still cheap, which makes the list a reasonable place to start collecting modern fiction before the market decides which ones last.
Each row links to the book's page, where the first edition is identified against two sources where we have them, its printing points are listed, and a value band appears once we hold recorded sales of that printing.
