Identification

How to identify this edition

Beast Quest is a British series produced by Working Partners and written by several ghostwriters under the house name Adam Blade, published by Orchard Books in the UK and Scholastic in the US. The first book, Ferno the Fire Dragon (Series 1, Book 1), was ghostwritten by Stephen Cole with illustrations by Tristan Lewis and came out in 2007 as an Orchard paperback, ISBN 9781846164835, 128 pages; one library record dates it 5 July 2007. The same ISBN stayed in print for years, so look for a 2007 date and the earliest printing on the copyright page. The rest of Series 1 followed in the same Orchard ISBN run, for example Sepron the Sea Serpent (9781846164828) and Arcta the Mountain Giant (9781846164842).
