The first English translation, by John Macquarrie and Edward Robinson, was published in London by SCM Press in 1962 in its Library of Philosophy and Theology, made from the seventh German edition. It runs to 589 pages and was issued in publisher's cloth with a dust jacket. Basil Blackwell of Oxford reissued the same translation in 1967, noting the earlier SCM publication, so a Blackwell title page marks a later issue.
