No British edition appeared on first publication: Constable, publisher of Slow Horses in 2010, declined to issue the sequel in the UK after weak sales, so the true first is the Soho Press hardback, New York, May 2013 (ISBN 9781616952259). John Murray began reissuing the Slough House books in Britain from 2015, and the first UK printing of Dead Lions is the John Murray paperback (Hodder & Stoughton group), ISBN 9781473621930, published 8 October 2015, 352 pages. No UK hardback of that date was found. A collector after the earliest copy should look for the Soho hardback; for the British line, check that the paperback carries ISBN 9781473621930 and a 2015 date, since the later Hodder issue retitled Dead Lions: Jackson Lamb Thriller 2 (2017, ISBN 9781473674196) is a different edition.
