First published by Verso Editions in London in 1983, 160 pages with notes, bibliography and index. Cloth and paper issues came out together: a contemporary review priced them at $24 and $6.50 for the American market, where Schocken distributed the book. Catalogue records give two ISBNs for the 1983 edition, 0 86091 059 8 and 0 86091 759 2. A revised edition with added chapters followed in 1991 and a further revision in 2006, so check for the 1983 date and the 160-page text.
