First published in New York by Walker in 1995; the first British edition is the Fourth Estate hardback of 1996, viii, 184 pages, about 20 cm tall, with gilt lettering on the spine, in a dust jacket. The book was reprinted under the same ISBN, and dealers offer later impressions (a third impression among them), so check the imprint page for any later impression statement. A 1998 Fourth Estate edition under ISBN 9781857025712 is later. Copies of the Walker edition sold in Britain are American firsts, not British.
