The first edition is American: Ballantine Books, New York, 2007. The first British edition is Sceptre (a Hodder and Stoughton imprint), London, 2008, a paperback of 419 pages. Two Sceptre ISBNs are recorded for 2008, 978 0 340 96337 1 and 978 0 340 91944 6; the second is the one the British library record attaches to the paperback, and the order in which the two appeared is not confirmed, so check the ISBN and printing line on the copyright page. A large print edition followed from Windsor/Paragon, Bath, in 2009 (hardback and paperback), and its record confirms the Sceptre 2008 edition as the British original. No British hardback first has been traced.
