The Tor hardback (New York, 1993) is the true first. The first British edition came from Legend in London in 1993; the hardback is ISBN 0 09 926311 4. The British jacket uses art by Nick Rodgers, while the Tor jacket has art by Wayne Barlowe, so the cover alone separates them. A second Legend ISBN of 1993, 0 09 926121 9, is also catalogued; it appears to be a trade paperback issued alongside the hardback. The 1994 Legend mass market paperback (ISBN 0 09 978050 X, 452 pages, 18 cm, £5.99) notes that it was originally published by Legend in 1993 and is a later edition.
