The first volume of the Regeneration trilogy was published in hardback by Viking in London on 30 May 1991, ISBN 0 670 82876 9, in a dust jacket. Sources give different page counts, so do not rely on extent. Confirm a first printing from the copyright page; the later paperback editions are not the first.
Viking's British list, published in London under Penguin, marks a first impression with a "First published" line and a complete number line on the reverse of the title page.
