Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules was first published in hardback by Amulet Books, New York, on 1 February 2008. The first British edition is the Puffin paperback, London, ISBN 978 0 14 132491 3, which Penguin dates 5 February 2009. The British Library's own entry for this ISBN gives 2008, probably from cataloguing ahead of publication, but its later large print record notes the original as London: Puffin, 2009, and Open Library also has 2009. The Galaxy large print edition (Bath, 2012) is later. Puffin printed the book in large numbers, and we found no source that documents rare variants or a ranking of the rarest Wimpy Kid books, so we cannot point to a scarce issue.
