This work is Specter of the Past, first of Zahn's Hand of Thrawn pair. The US Bantam Spectra hardback and the British Bantam Press (Transworld) hardback both appeared in December 1997 per ISFDB. The UK first has ISBN 0 593 03990 4, 344 pages, 24 cm. Do not confuse it with Vision of the Future, the second book, whose UK hardback (ISBN 0 593 04338 3) appeared in 1998. Later issues include a US Science Fiction Book Club hardback (January 1998), a G. K. Hall large print edition (1998) and the UK Bantam paperback (ISBN 0 553 50417 7; the BNB dates it 1998, ISFDB 1999).
