The Absorbent Mind first appeared in English in 1949 from the Theosophical Publishing House at Adyar, Madras, India. Further Indian editions followed (Theosophical Publishing House 1959, 1961 and 1964, Kalakshetra 1967), and Holt, Rinehart and Winston published it in New York in 1967. No British edition has been traced in UK library catalogues before Clio Press of Oxford issued it in August 1988 in its Clio Montessori Series, in Claude A. Claremont's translation from the Italian, about 270 pages, ISBN 1-85109-087-8. It was issued as a paperback, and Clio reprinted it (a 1994 printing is recorded), so check the reverse of the title page for any later printing. Indian and American copies sold in Britain are not British editions.
