The first UK edition is the Jonathan Cape hardback, London, 1973 (ISBN 0 224 00810 2), following the American first of 1972. It is a slim book of 78 numbered pages; one dealer gives the size as 22 by 14 cm. Several dealers list 1973 Cape copies as the first UK edition.
A Jonathan Cape first impression carries "First published" with the year on the back of the title page and nothing else, because Cape recorded every later impression in the same place.
