How to identify this edition
The novel first appeared from Arbor House in New York in 1987, followed by a US book club hardback. There was no British hardback: the first UK edition is a Legend trade paperback (large format softcover) of January 1988, 263 pages, ISBN 0-09-945350-9, priced £2.95, with cover art by Tony Roberts. A smaller mass-market Legend paperback with the same ISBN followed, priced £3.50 with 327 pages; the higher price, smaller format and longer pagination mark that reprint. The Tor paperback is American.
