About Flatiron Books
Flatiron Books is a New York publishing division of Macmillan, launched in 2014 under Bob Miller, with offices in the Flatiron Building at Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street in Manhattan.
Miller, who had started his career as an editorial assistant at St. Martin's Press, hired Amy Einhorn, who had run her own imprint at Penguin Random House, as publisher in mid-2014 to build a fiction list of two to three titles a month. Its first book was Oprah Winfrey's What I Know for Sure, published in September 2014 and drawn from her O, The Oprah Magazine columns; a first full list of seven titles followed that winter.
It has since had more than 120 New York Times bestsellers. Titles on its list include Matthew Perry's Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, Sarah Wynn-Williams's Careless People, Stephanie Garber's adult debut Alchemy of Secrets and Rumaan Alam's Leave the World Behind. Deb Futter, who also leads Macmillan's Celadon Books, is president and publisher, with Megan Lynch as publisher.
