About Grand Central Publishing
Grand Central Publishing is a New York imprint of Hachette Book Group and the renamed successor to Warner Books.
Warner Books began in 1970, when Kinney National Company bought Paperback Library, a New York paperback house. In March 2007 Time Warner sold its book publishing business to Hachette Livre; the North American group became Hachette Book Group and the Warner Books imprint was renamed Grand Central Publishing. The new name was chosen partly because the firm's new offices stood close to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan.
Grand Central runs several sub-imprints. Twelve, founded in 2007, is a small prestige list that issues a single book each month, with authors including Christopher Hitchens. The others include Forever, Forever Yours, Balance and Legacy Lit.
For collectors the history matters because books from before 2007 carry the Warner Books name, and because Warner's roots were in paperbacks, so a Warner copy may be a paperback issue of a book first published elsewhere. Check the original publisher before treating an older Warner paperback as a first.

Warner Books began with the purchase of the paperback house Paperback Library in 1970. Check whether a Warner paperback reissues another firm's hardcover before treating it as a first.
Book-club copies usually have no jacket price, are often a little smaller and lighter, and may have a small blind stamp pressed into the back board.
From 2007
We have not found a source describing Grand Central's copyright page in detail. Apply the general rule: the lowest number in the number line is the printing, so a line that still includes 1 is a first printing.
