About Harlequin Teen
Harlequin Teen (styled Harlequin TEEN) was the young adult imprint of the romance publisher Harlequin, launched in 2009, renamed Inkyard Press in 2019 and closed by HarperCollins in 2023.
List. It published young adult fiction only until 2021, when middle-grade books were added under the Inkyard name. Its authors included Julie Kagawa, Gena Showalter, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Melissa de la Cruz and Adi Alsaid. Kagawa's The Forever Song (2014), the closing book of her Blood of Eden vampire trilogy, appeared under the Harlequin Teen imprint.
Ownership and closure. Torstar owned Harlequin from 1981 until News Corp bought it in 2014, and it now operates as a division of HarperCollins. In July 2023 HarperCollins said it would shut Inkyard Press, pointing to changes in retail, reduced distribution and higher production costs, and moved its titles to HarperCollins Children's Books imprints.
