About Headline Review

Headline Review is a London fiction imprint of Headline Publishing Group, part of Hachette UK, that publishes quality commercial and reading-group fiction.

Headline itself was founded in 1986 by Tim Hely Hutchinson. In 1993 it bought Hodder & Stoughton, creating Hodder Headline; WH Smith acquired that business in 1999 and sold it to Hachette Livre in 2005. Headline describes the Review list as a sister imprint for readers of commercial reading-group fiction, with a gentler tone than its mainstream fiction. Headline's other lists include Tinder Press (its literary imprint, launched in 2013), Wildfire and the romance imprint Eternal.

A well-known Headline Review first edition is Victoria Hislop's debut novel The Island, published in the UK on 6 June 2005, which won Newcomer of the Year at the 2007 British Book Awards. Headline still lists Headline Review among its current imprints.
