Market value

What decides the price

  • It is the first UK edition; the true first was published elsewhere.
  • The original dust jacket carries much of the price for a book of this age; its condition matters as much as the book's.
  • Condition is graded separately for book and jacket, from Fine down to Poor.

Identification

How to identify this edition

New Moon was first published in New York by Little, Brown in 2006 (ISBN 0-316-16019-9, 563 pages, first printing 100,000), with a cover designed by Gail Doobinin from a photograph by John Grant; that is the true first. British library records give the first UK publication as London: Atom, 2007. The Atom hardback, ISBN 978-1-904233-86-2, is dated 5 April 2007, and two dealers sell it as the first UK edition, first printing. Atom's mass paperback (978-1-904233-88-6) followed in September 2007, with many later paperbacks and box sets (for example 978-1-905654-64-2 in 2009 and 978-1-907410-49-9 in 2010). Check the copyright page for Atom, 2007 and a first printing.
