About Lord Darcy

Lord Darcy is a series of fantasy detective stories created by Randall Garrett, set in a 1960s alternate world where a Plantagenet Anglo-French Empire still rules and magic is a codified science. The first story, "The Eyes Have It", appeared in 1964, and Garrett wrote ten short stories and one novel, Too Many Magicians, serialised in Analog in 1966 and issued in book form by Doubleday in 1967. The stories were collected as Murder and Magic (1979) and Lord Darcy Investigates (1981, Ace Books), then combined with the novel in the 1983 omnibus Lord Darcy. After Garrett's death in 1987 Michael Kurland added two novels, Ten Little Wizards (1988) and A Study in Sorcery (1989), both from Ace Books.
