About The Chronicles of Narnia
The Chronicles of Narnia is C. S. Lewis's fantasy series for children, and there are 7 Narnia books, published one a year from 1950 to 1956. Geoffrey Bles issued the first five in Britain and The Bodley Head the last two, The Magician's Nephew (1955) and The Last Battle (1956). Lewis had finished The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by March 1949 and completed the last of the seven to be written, The Magician's Nephew, in 1954. The first American publisher, Macmillan, numbered them in publication order; later HarperCollins editions number them in story order, which starts with The Magician's Nephew and puts The Horse and His Boy third.
