About The Icewind Dale Trilogy
The Icewind Dale Trilogy is the series in which R. A. Salvatore began writing for the Forgotten Realms, introducing the drow ranger Drizzt Do'Urden alongside Wulfgar, Regis, Bruenor and Catti-brie. TSR published the three novels from 1988 to 1990: The Crystal Shard, which was Salvatore's first published novel and carried a Larry Elmore cover, then Streams of Silver and The Halfling's Gem. The books were later reissued as books four to six of The Legend of Drizzt, and a hardback Icewind Dale collector's edition appeared in 2000.
